GOODBYE TWENTY FIFTEEN
Twenty fifteen I would say was one of the craziest, but best years of my life to date. Crazy beautiful. It's with a sense of disbelief and widened eyes that I look back over my diary. How...did I fit it all in. One of my highlights from this year was getting to travel to North Carolina, to McGuire's Millrace Farm, for Jill & Jeremiah's stunning outdoor wedding. Surrounded by their friends, family and the Blue Ridge Mountains, Jill & Jeremiah’s ceremony was one of the most beautiful I have had the pleasure of photographing.
It is always great to shoot at wedding venues I have never been to before and there were aaalot of new venues for me in Twenty Fifteen. Lusty Beg Island, Tullveery House and Malone House to list a few. Then there were a couple to make special mention of. A standout was that of Virginia Park Lodge in County Cavan. I travelled here for Graham & Kate's wedding. The setting is simply stunning. Gardens, forests, lakes. The main house is steeped in history which can be tastefully seen throughout. The interiors & fine details are like nothing I have ever seen. D-vine. I hope I am back in Virginia a lot more. You can see Graham & Kate's wedding at Virginia Park Lodge in my Collections, here.
I also got to shoot at the much talked about and very quaint, Orange Tree House. I was treated to two visits this year. Firstly in the Spring for Gareth & Leeanne's wedding. Their wedding was featured on Mrs2Be, which you can read about here. Whilst over there you can enjoy their stunning wedding film by the talented B&G Productions. I returned again a few months later in the Summer for Oran & Kerry's wedding. This time working alongside the lovely Victoria from A Cinematic Life. Oran & Kerry's wedding was featured on Bride Story. If you would like to see more of that, you can do so, here.
Returning to personal venue favourites also never gets old, Rathmullan House, in County Donegal, is on that list for me. I returned here for Paul & Claire's wedding where I got to work with the supremely talented videographers Forever Social. Paul & Claire are featured as a Real Wedding in my Collections. You can see their wedding here.
Twenty Fifteen also seemed to be the year of photographing people I know. From family, to close friends, school buddies
(primary & secondary!) to fellow hockey players , it's always lovely to photograph a familiar face.
I am so grateful to every couple, your family and your friends for all the love I was shown in Twenty Fifteen.
I always feel so welcome at the weddings I photograph and I never take that for granted.
Thank you!
Goodbye Twenty Fifteen, you crazy beautiful year.
