When I think back to my first visit at the stunning Irish wedding venue of Rathmullan House in County Donegal, I think firstly of entering the seaside village of Rathmullan. It felt like nobody else was there. Just me & the gulls. There was a calmness in the village which pointed to a seemingly slow pace of life. After winding through the woodland lined driveway to reach the house, on stepping out my car this feeling of calm & slowness continued. Everything about this place invites you to switch off. The house is set on beautiful landscaped grounds with a golden sandy beach just a short path away. Inside does not disappoint. With tasteful interiors throughout, it is everything you would expect an elegant 1800s period house to be. Large windows, open fires, inviting comfy chairs. For Paul & Claire's spring wedding at Rathmullan House a thick mist descended. As beautiful and welcomed as a sun soaked wedding day is, as we stepped onto the beach and the view of Lough Swilly slowly faded away, the mist seemed fitting. It brought yet another layer of tranquility to these already soothing shores.
