Marc & Claire’s wedding was a particularly nice one for me to be involved with because I know Claire from a previous life when we played hockey together, reconnecting over her wedding was just lovely. Marc & Claire had their wedding at Tullyveery House which is just a few miles down the road from Claire’s family home, the short stints of travel at their wedding made for a very relaxed day. On the morning of the wedding I met the guys at Florida Manor where they had stayed and where getting ready. Whaaat an absolute hidden gem of a place it is - luxury country estate apartments hidden away in the beautiful countryside of County Down. I love finding places like this - a perk to photographing weddings! After spending some time with the lads I went the short distance to Claire’s house where her mum plied me with coffee and homemade scones - honestly - the amount of times I have to remind people that I am there to do a job. The hospitality and kindness of the people in our wee country never ceases to amaze me! At weddings I think it is really important that couples are actually at their wedding for as much of the day as possible. ie. no 2 hours away getting photographs. Nipping off for a short breather together, a little walk, a cuddle, a kiss (snap snap snap) and then back to the party is more my style - Tullyveery House makes this sort of approach very easy, because you only need to walk for about 30 seconds before you are into lush trees & countryside, everything is so close together and everything is so beautiful!
